Does it need to stay plugged in?
No. Charge it with the 1 m USB cable in the box, then unplug it and open it wherever you like: shelf, bedside or dinner table. When the glow starts to fade, plug it back in, just like your phone.
Is it bright enough to read by?
It's a soft, warm mood light for a bedside, a shelf or a reading corner, not a bright desk lamp. Fan it open wider for a bigger glow, and keep a desk lamp for small print.
Is the cover real wood?
The cover is wood in a maple finish. The pages are tear-resistant paper, so they fan open and fold back again and again.
How big is it?
Closed, it's 12 × 9 × 2.5 cm: about the height and width of a passport, but 2.5 cm thick. Opened all the way round, it becomes a round paper lantern.
How do I switch it on?
Open the cover. The pages fan out and light up from inside, and you can stop at any angle up to a full 360° circle.
Can I use it outside?
It's cordless once charged, so it's lovely on a balcony table for an evening. Bring it back in afterwards and keep it out of rain and damp: the pages are paper.
Good to know before you use it
It charges by USB: charge it on a dry surface and unplug it once it's full.
Keep the paper pages away from candles, heaters and open flames.
Not a toy: keep it out of reach of young children.
