Questions, answered

Does it need to stay plugged in?

No. Charge it from any USB port, then unplug it and set it wherever you like: sideboard, shelf or the middle of the dinner table. When the glow starts to fade, plug it back in, just like your phone.

How big is it?

Closed, it's 21.5 × 16.5 × 3 cm, about the size of a hardback novel. Opened all the way round, it becomes a round paper lantern.

How do I charge it?

Plug a USB cable into the small port on the edge of the pages, then into a phone-charger plug, a laptop or any USB port.

What colour is the light?

Warm white: the soft, golden glow you see in the photos.

Is the cover real wood?

The covers come in walnut or white maple, with the wood grain showing on each one. The pages are tear-resistant paper, so they fan open and fold back again and again.

Can I use it outside?

It's cordless once charged, so it's lovely on a balcony table for an evening. Bring it back in afterwards and keep it out of rain and damp: the pages are paper.

Good to know before you use it

It charges by USB: charge it on a dry surface and unplug it once it's full.

Keep the paper pages away from candles, heaters and open flames.
